Pair Vintage Chinese Carved Wood Marble Top Stands

$1,995.00

A beautifully carved pair of vintage Chinese hardwood plant stands, featuring elegant openwork floral decoration and inset stone tops.

Each stand is crafted in a classic octagonal form, with a shaped apron showcasing pierced floral carving, likely representing plum blossoms or peonies. A delicate beaded edge frames the top, adding a refined architectural detail.

The tops are fitted with natural stone panels, displaying soft, organic veining that contrasts nicely with the rich, dark wood. The stands rest on four gracefully curved legs, joined by an X-form stretcher with a carved central medallion for added strength and visual interest.

These were traditionally used as plant stands or display pedestals, perfect for showcasing porcelain, sculptures, or decorative objects. The matched pair makes them especially desirable for symmetrical placement.

They date to the early 20th Century.

They are in very good condition. One has a little beaded nub around the top about half missing, but it's not too visible. Also a spot of glue on the underside of the stretcher on one leg, which you can see in the 11th photo of the bottom (the leg is not loose, and we have no idea when the glue was added.)
