Antique Miniature Artichoke Glass Oil / Kerosene Lamp

$275.00

This is a miniature antique artichoke-form oil lamp, richly decorative and very much in the Victorian–early 20th century aesthetic.

Description:
Form: The lamp is modeled as a stylized artichoke, with deeply molded, overlapping “leaf” lobes wrapping both the font and the shade, giving it strong sculptural presence despite its small size.

Glass: Made of cased milk glass with a soft opal white ground, delicately shaded in pink and olive green. The coloration fades smoothly, creating a hand-finished look typical of late 19th–early 20th century glass work.

Shade: The matching artichoke shade is thick, glossy, and heavily molded, with a gently scalloped rim. A clear glass chimney insert rises from the center.

Base: The lower font mirrors the shade’s artichoke pattern, with deeper green shading near the shoulder and pink highlights transitioning into white at the foot.

Burner: P&A Nutmeg showing age-appropriate patina. Wick wheel is marked P&A MFG CO

Scale: Clearly miniature—the comparison photo with the water bottle emphasizes its compact size, making it ideal for a dresser, shelf, or collector’s display.

A charming, highly decorative, and finely made, this lamp combines naturalistic Victorian design with soft pastel coloring. It would appeal strongly to collectors of miniature oil lamps, artichoke glass, or shaded Victorian glassware. The form and finish suggest a piece meant as much for visual delight as for light, even when unlit.
