Vintage Ritts Astrolite Lucite Bookends Set of 4 Mid Century Modern 1970s Geometric

$425.00

Offered is a stunning set of four vintage lucite bookends from the renowned Astrolite line by the Ritts Company of Los Angeles, circa 1970s. These iconic mid-century modern pieces showcase the geometric, sculptural aesthetic that made Astrolite famous among collectors and interior designers.

DESIGN & CONSTRUCTION:
Each bookend features the classic hexagonal trapezoid form with beautifully beveled edges that catch and refract light in spectacular fashion. Made from thick, crystal-clear lucite, these pieces create prismatic displays when positioned near windows or under lighting. The substantial weight and architectural design make them both functional and decorative.

DIMENSIONS:
Approximately 5-3/4" tall x 3-7/8" wide x 2-11/16" deep

CONDITION:
Overall very good vintage condition with clear, transparent lucite free from clouding or hazing. As expected with 50+ year old lucite pieces, there is minor surface scratching from use that does not detract from display. One bookend has a small chip on the bottom corner, which can be hidden if placed at the back. No spider veining or internal cracks. The light-refracting quality remains excellent.

ABOUT RITTS ASTROLITE:
The Ritts Company of Los Angeles was owned by Herbert and Shirley Ritts, parents of the legendary fashion photographer Herb Ritts. Their Astrolite line became synonymous with sophisticated mid-century modern design and remains highly collectible today.

VERSATILE SET:
This set of four pieces offers flexibility - use as two pairs of bookends in different locations, or group together for maximum visual impact. Perfect for the mid-century modern study, library, or anywhere you want to add sculptural elegance.
A wonderful opportunity to own multiple pieces from this iconic American design line!
