Antique 19th C. Carved Mahogany Chippendale Style Music Cabinet - Ball & Claw Feet

$2,195.00

Offered is a Fine Quality, Carved Mahogany, 19th Century Sheet Music Cabinet. Done in the Chippendale style, this quality cabinet features a carved Gadroon edge top, carved columns on front corners, fan corners in top section of door, and a shell carving on the lower half of the door. The legs and feet are distinctly Chippendale style.

Inside are 6 pull-out shelves, which create 7 sections. Originally for sheet music, you could easily use this for paperwork (such as taxes), like a file cabinet. You could use it for art supplies, or anything that needs to be stored flat. There are many possibilities. One of the shelves has some significant finish spotting, but it's not visible as it is flipped over.

It's important to note that there is no veneer on this cabinet, only solid mahogany.

Condition: Normal wear, some surface scratches on top and a couple on sides. Their is a hairline in the top-center of the back panel. The feet have wear to the high points all around, likely from a vacuum. The carving on the upper part of the front right leg has some chips (see last photo). The top has a slight lift on the left back corner, and a hairline on the left side (see second to last photo). Overall, the condition is very good. There is no key, but a locksmith could make one.
