Offered is a Pair of Vintage Japanese Urns by L.J. Schulz of Hamburg, Germany. L.J. was an importer of fine porcelain items from the 1960s to 1980s.

These are exceptional, having hand-painted Irises and butterflies. The line decorations on the tops and bottoms of the urns and lids is a deep red, almost oxblood in color. The interiors are fully glazed, as well. On the bottom of each is the original LJ label and Japanese characters.

The previous owner thought enough of them to obtain some wood bases, and the bases do give them a much improved stance on display.
