Pair Miller Duplexalite Light Fixtures - Brass Griffons - Green Enamel

SOLD

Offered is a pair of Duplexalite hanging fixtures, made by the Edward Miller company. Dating to the mid 1920s, they have a reticulated brass body with Griffons prancing around. Inside is the original green porcelain-over-steel reflector. The bottom of the glass shades have a round medallion, which is white metal (as is the husk covering the socket holder).

These originally took a long incandescent bulb, so a socket extender can be used to hold more modern size bulbs. The majority of the light is indirect, shining through the thick glass shade on the bottom.

Both have some replace brass screws, and the chain and screw collars are replacements. One of the brass tabs that hold the shade inside the brass has been replaced since it was missing. There are some spots on the canopies but the brass filigree is in great shape. The porcelain reflectors have some chips on the edges, and one a little more than the other, but nothing you can see while they are installed.

Overall, they display and work very well. They have been rewired with enough wire to allow several more feet of chain, if necessary.
