Offered is this rare pair of Italian ceramic parrots purchased at the long defunct Hess's department store (closed since 1996) in Allentown PA. They are both marked Italy on the bottom, and each bares the original paper Made in Italy for Hess's label.

This is a large pair of parrots, the taller one measuring 24-1/2"H x 11-1/2"W, and the other is 19-3/4"H x 9"W.

Both have some crazing in the glaze, but no cracks in the ceramic. The taller one has a small nick on the end of one of his tail feathers (see last photo). It can likely be filled with clear nail polish or something, but that's up to the new caretaker.

These are from the Allentown estate of the original owner.
