Offered is an Antique Ruby Flashed Etched to Clear Casket Box.

The front displays a floral centerpiece in a dotted circle, flanked by long stemmed flowers.

Each end panel shows what looks to be a Lilly of the Valley, while the corner panels show ribbons adorned with stalks of leaves.

All around the outer edge of the lid is a draped effect, and the lid top is star-cut with 3-leaf designs at the corners. The bottom is also star-cut.

The lid is attached to the base by brass hinge hardware, which is free of repairs and works perfectly. The back of the hinge has a built in stop to prevent the lid from opening to far. The brass shows its original aged patina.

This is an antique and it was used, as is evident by the wear to the flashing on the bottom. There are no chips or cracks, but age related wear in a couple spots to the flashing. Most notably is the nick in the ruby flash on the back of the lid.
