Offered is this elaborately decorated copper box, made to resemble a book.

It features a hinged cover decorated with roundels of figures and animals, with book locks. It stands on beaded bun feet.

Dates to the late 19th century, or early 20th century.

Measures:
10-5/16" Wide
10-7/8" Deep
2-3/8" High

Has some heavy tarnish in areas, with some spots here and there. The box closes solid, and has some minder deformation in the front on one corner of the lid, which you can see in the photo of the front. The red velvet interior looks to have been reattached to the lid with some hot glue at some point.
