Offered is an exceptionally long, brass and slag glass hanging light fixture with octagonal shade. The shade is fitted with multi-color slag glass, which sits behind ornate reticulated panels.

From the top, this fixture is ornate in its simplicity. It features Victorian elements in the form of reeded balls and spike finials. The square columns all appear to be made of individual brass pieces, soldered together. Each square 'arm' attaches to iron plates, which are screwed into the top of the shade.

Light is provided by four fat-boy, pull-chain sockets, each having a long pull chain with ball finial.

The fixture is in very good condition, with old aged patina, and some green tarnish in a few spots on the shade. It appears there was originally a door on the bottom of the fixture, but the configuration of the bulbs seems to negate the need for a door.

We date this fixture from about 1900-1910

Measures: 59"H overall, 17-1/2"W at widest on shade, and 16-1/4"W flat side to flat side of shade. Can be shortened up to 8"L by shortening at the top pole. The shade itself measures about 8-3/4"H. The canopy measures about 4-7/8"W at top. Fixture weight is significant at XX pounds.
