Pair Vintage Barovier and Toso Cordonato d'Oro Murano Glass Lamps

SOLD

Offered is a Pair of Vintage c.1930 or 1940s Murano Glass Cordonato d'Oro Lamps by Barovier and Toso.

They have always been electric, though at first glance they resemble finger oil lamps. The bodies are smooth and heavy, with loads of gold throughout. The delicate looking handles are attached to the body at both ends. The shade holders are a very heavy brass, and retain the aged old patina. The wiring appears to be recent - cloth covered gold wire was used, perhaps with the original plugs and switches, to keep them looking original.

The swirl shades are opalescent/iridescent glass with ruffled/crimped tops - other than some nicks on the fitter end, which is not seen when installed, they are perfect. The lamps have no cracks, chips or repairs. Overall, a super set of Italian, Mid Century lamps!

They measure 14-1/4"H x about 6"W overall. The bases measure about 4-1/2"W without sans handles.
